You can't stop piracy.

The only programs that I have ever used pirated copies of were ones I used in college that were too expensive to buy. As a GIS student there were several software packages that I wanted to be able to use at home and not just on computers in the school computer lab. Being in a computer related major I had access to a variety of pirated software and occasionally the temptation was too great.

Make software cheaper or sell versions with semi reduced functionality and maybe piracy will be reduced, but it isn't going away.

Any industry?

I think it's extremely selfish for you to tell people that they don't deserve they money that they get.
