i think he makes the valid point that speculation is...well pointless. You can't really tell how things would turn out if you make such a huge change to the past

and since christianity caused the dark ages what can we assume the world would be like without ever having christianity?

You mean Catholicism right?

Because remember, Christianity is different than Catholicism.

Jesus is the answer. Not a pope, not mary, not a statue.

Anyways, I think it's interesting to think about it. Humanity was progressing so fast till the end of the Roman Empire, and even though you have to admit there was progress during the middle ages, it was clearly much slower then it was before. If we never slowed down, and we had our industrial revolution lets say in the 1200s, I wonder where we would be now. Would we have not gained enough culutural evolution and we end up going backwards, or would we be where literature speculates what the future will look like. There doesn't seem to be any answers.

there are no answers and i don't see why you thought there was. the only way to have any clue what would happen is to be able to observe an alternate timeline which it occurred in.

Where did I sugest there was an answer? Posing a question doesn't imply you think there is a definite answer.

"there doesn't seem to be any answers" instead of saying "there isn't an answer".

if you knew there was not an answer then why make a thread asking about it?

both of those suggest you thought this was somehow answerable.
