Why wouldn't a free rat, have free will? Aren't all animals intended to be free on a natural level? We don't fully understand how animals communicate, their thought patterns, the language they use to communicate with. All we have is observation

no living thing is free, choices all come down to incentives and genetic preferences, consciousness of choice is an illusion, we're slaves of the unconscious.
