If you generate enough energy and have the capacity to store it, you can sell it to the local power company.

Some food for thought.

what ive always wondered was why not start producing treadmills/bikes/etc hooked up to a system to turn the energy from running/biking into electricity. so basically you are exercising + you are producing electricity for your house, which i think is what america needs. going green + losing weight.

grab a hand generator and put it on a regular light bulb and it will be abundantly clear.

About $25,000-$50,000 and you won't see any noticeable savings for about 20 years don't get unless your not moving ever

this completely depends on the amount of sunlight your panels get and how much wind you get, although most green houses are just solar powered, you can see savings in a few years if your in the right spot say like the desert in arizona or something

don't have a hand generator and not well versed in power/electricity. Take a lot of cranking to get it going?

ya its a lot of effort. just to partially charge a car battery would take a very fit person a long time to do.

for casual exercise is really pointless unless you want to run a small led interface on the treadmill itself or something.

Have you ever seen those crank flashlights where you have to turn a crank to power the battery? It's the same principle. It takes a LOT of cranking just to get the light to stay on for a full minute.
