Depend of the religious believes. By example, in advaita bouddhism, each things is part of the same. Two faces of the same medals : love and hate, life and death, joy and sadness and so on and so forth.

In this perspective, god isn't good or bad, it's simply the source of all manifestations of reality and potentialities.
