If sports existed in a vacuum, then answer would be yes. Athletes are rich and can pay for doctors who will be able to make sound medical decisions and use steroids in the right way.

But the reality of the situation is that athletes are role models and their behavior will be emulated by kids. And all those kids won't have access to the same medical care that pro athletes have.

This is a fair assessment, I'm inclined to agree.

just reminds me of a documentary. when used sparingly and mointored, their side effects are minimal. but if some chump wants to turn his arms the size of tree trunks and sacrifice his health, let him.

it should remain illegal in sports, but imo it should be legal as a recreational body building drug

why the fuck not? people nowadays are smart enough to read the side effects, prohibition is a thing of the past

illegal because most athletes dont want the side effects or have to use needles to have a upper hand. bodybuilding is an example of two ldagues: mens open where if youve taken or failed that truth test w.e its called and all natural where supplements are allowed ( no aas ) but estrogen blocking sups are allowed up to 6 weeks prior competition. im not a great source but i know a few things here and there. my stance is keep illegal because long term use may result in cancers and and irreversible side effects. i hope i was able to help if not pm me with more detailed questions and ill post here so others can comment.
e/ kayeto made a prime example on kids & steroids.

the simple disincentive of prohibiting a drug by making it illegal doesn't outweigh the safety benefits of legalizing it

i think option c is the most fair. people already in leagues prohibiting steroids shouldn't be penalized for not choosing to follow that path to keep up with the new competition

creating a new league allows like minded individuals to compete on the same level without interfering with previously established leagues
