Could you please post this, my warn doesn't allow me to post there:
Hi.
I wrote a substantial amount on this topic over the years.
What is the most likely outcome (more of an opinion than science) is that the universe is an incompressible "equation" compounded by the uncertainty principle.
This does not say that determinism is not true, it just proves that (more psychological / philosophical than scientifical) the future cannot be predicted.
The ability to predict the future, however is not equivalent to the future being determined.
I.E. the universe could have basically already happened and we are observing it through the linear (or almost linear) expression of the dimension time.
The incompressibility of the universe means that there is no "god" equation or no "equation of everything" - i.e. even if we found string theory to be correct, scaling it up to large levels will show that there is an ever increasing complexity that cannot be accounted for by the core fundamentals (i.e. the string theory or equation).
This is a more holistic approach to chaos theory and basically suggests that the universe is incompressible - no equation, no computer, no logic can ever precede the universe's unfolding besides the universe itself.
