Considering the vastness of space or the vast complexity of life can be a spiritual experience even without invoking a deity. I'm still in awe of the fact that we know have figured so much out about the entire universe even from our tiny little corner billions of light years away, and yet there's still so much more to figure out.

yeah me too..
we could do so much more i think if there wasn't such cloud and confusion between the regular person and the exploration scientist.
i wish when you had that dream of being something when you were a kid, and grow up to only be told, you cant be that. it ruins us.
we would be more successful as a human brain if we could be whatever we wanted i think.
and the one thing, that he doesn't say that i think he should have said, which is where i disagree with all these scientists these days.
is that they always say how stupid we are and we are nothing this and that.
but that's what i think makes us unique, is the fact that. we are never ending and always evolving.
one day we will be able to figure out the difference in that 1% and overcome that 1% other entities may have on us. that's what makes us great.
but then there is the counter argument of, if they start out 1% of higher intellect, they have that 1% step up on us. which is where i have yet to come up with a counter to. (very tired lol..)

Yeah. We've been growing our scientific body of knowledge exponentially. If that's true of an alien race who is beyond our current level as well, then the gap will only widen since their exponential level of growth will start off at a higher level than our exponential growth.

But I think part of the US culture is that our kids are told that they can be whatever they want to when they grow up. I know I grew up thinking that, anyway.
