The idea that the universe is infinite is just that. It is unknown whether it is or isn't.

This idea of a being/force having created everything is an attempt to fill the void in understanding how the universe and life itself started. I'm not arguing against the belief (frankly that's the only "explanation" I believe in atm), but you should refine your concepts of the universe/God and realize that both of these are, at heart, human machinations.
