I know that people on ecstasy use pacifiers, but I'd never heard of it as a tool to help people quit smoking.

I would say you need to replace the addictive habit (smoking) with a non-addictive habit. So every time you have the urge to smoke, instead of lighting up you get some beef jerky to chew on. After you've weened yourself off the cigarettes, you can drop the beef jerky "habit" with no side effects.

I hear the pacifier trick helps a lot. There's also an addiction of doing stuff with your hands and the dependency of having something in your mouth. It's weird.

I could provide a little bit of insight into this... I quit smoking about a month and a half ago and I haven't had a cigarette sense then. I just quit cold turkey and I used to s moke at least 5 cigarettes a day and maybe even more than that. After the first week of not smoking (you've got to be strong minded) you don't really crave any more cigarettes. Just keep in mind the health benefits far outweigh the risks of smoking... and besides I would WAY rather smoke pot than cigarettes considering that pot is actually not that bad for you..but that's a whole nother topic / thread all together. I DID take a puff off a friends cigarette like...last week, and it felt very harsh on my lungs and I remember being able to smoke it like it was air... (it was a Newport..strong ass cig) but just think about what thats doing to your lungs.. so IDK just use willpower man, be strong minded and most of all do it because you want to not because you have to. Good luck!

anyone got some sure fire ways to help me slow down? I know the most logical thing to do is to slow down using willpower.

but i mean, i enjoy it..it really doesn't affect my health yet because i keep a great diet and exercise everyday.

I don't cough, honestly its not even that bad.

I just know that i have gotta change or else the consequences could be fatal down the road into the future.

Anything will be appreciated, thanks in advance. Even spam/troll comments are welcome. thanks guise

I quit cold turkey. I had tried it before, lasting for one month once, a couple weeks another time, a couple days another time, etc...... Only this time I didn't start smoking again.

Keep at it. Been 19 months now for me.
