havent been following this since right after the start, but i recall the media stating that a private company was assessing the risk instead of the government assuming responsibility. what that might actually mean imo is that the japanese govt is using this private company to take the fall. meaning the situation could've be pretty damn bad from the get-go. the fact that they released 10,000 tons of radioactive wastewater into the ocean is one indicator.
10,000 or 100,000 tons of gallons, i dont remember.
