Gene HAR1. Not found in any other life forms to mutate or gain base pairs at the rate of humans. People believe that humans and chimps shared an ancestor around 6 million years ago but the HAR1 defies mutation rate from chimp to humans. Some people believe it was mutated by outside hands. ie aliens.
Rapid evolution is observed. There are two possible courses of actions that can be taken:
1) Use the scientific method to figure out how it happened.
2) Jump to a supernatural conclusion because that's easier than simply saying, "We don't know yet."
I wonder which is the correct course of action... I mean that gene was only discovered in 2006. You can't expect immediate answers to complex questions.
