read your own sig.

i can raise enough food for a family of four on 3 acres (including chickens for eggs, a cow for dairy if you want, just add an acre). if you also take into acct the space inside your home, you can grow amazing hydroponics taking up little space and it is sooo easy. yes hydroponics can be organic. the best part: your food is farmer's market caliber fresh and grows year round. i have ruby red tomatoes in the middle of winter, even local restaurants are jealous.

growing food without soil. instead you devise a system than pumps (or draws) liquid nutrients through the roots. hydroponic food grows faster and bigger than food from soil. when you go to the store to buy soil it is either enriched with chemicals or if organic it has bone and blood meal in it (byproducts from slaughterhouse). vegans never seem to realize this ;) the downside to hydroponics is that you must use constantly use specific lights that use alot of power -a 450 watt bulb can grow 4-8 tomato plants.

if we spent more money on organic crops, and less money on drugs and all that other stuff how wouldn't we be able to support our population ? their wouldn't be any money making , but it could easily be done. Especially if we stopped polluting shit too would it not be do-able, if no why not?

It is not that simple. Organic farming is not actually all that sustainable in developed nations. I am not really in favor of either one but there are upsides and downsides to both conventional and organic farming. It seems a little bit ignorant to just jump in and say the world would be better with organic farming when all your knowledge about it comes from one documentary.

I would love to grow my own food. For now I'm happy with crop sharing though. =)

60 acres, garden is 2 1/2 acres. the rest is forest, creeks and pond.

and after doing some research, industrial organic growing can be done on a large scale. large enough to feed the world.
