We've all probably had a few of those dreams where you know you are dreaming and can do whatever you want. This 'awareness of awareness of dreaming' (wierdly worded I know) is called lucid dreaming.
I've recently become infatuated with this idea and have been trying to achieve lucidity through many different techniques and routine rituals.

I imagine there are at least some d2jsp'ers familiar with this, but any experienced lucid dreamers out there willing to enlighten us with some tips or knowledge?
I learned what I know about the topic through www.dreamviews.com (which I found through google)

I'd love to try and answer some questions you have about lucid dreams too!

works for me when i have had about 5 hours of sleep, wake up randomly and think and go back to sleep and dream about what i was thinking

Do some research on binaural beats. Helps you meditate and get your brain frequency in tune for whatever activity you are planning on doing.

I'd highly recommend Hemi Sync from the Monroe Institute

hmm, im still confused as well.
i get the "lasers are concise light, hemisync helps yield concise thought" metaphor, but if this is true.. i have SO many questions about it

im going to try and listen to some similar youtube findings during my pre-bed meditation tonight, hopefully itll attribute well to the state of relaxation needed
thanks mate! :hail:

explain this please

http://hypertextbook.com/facts/2004/SamanthaCharles.shtm <- Basic Understanding of the Brain Wave Frequency Range

So for example what binaural beats will do is flow music at, lets say, 10,000hz in your left ear and 10,008hz in your right ear. So essentially the 10,000hz will cancel each other out and the brain will pick up on the 8hz and mimic it putting you into the alpha range. I'm sure it gets more complicated than this, but this is just my basic understanding of how it works.

The most published on this area would probably be the Monroe Institute. Basically they have produced a product called HemiSync that uses binaural beats into helping the brain attune to desired frequency range. Most of their research, or atleast my understanding of it, go towards helping people with learning disabilities by attuning their brains into proper frequencies for learning. They have been pretty successful and schools are picking this type of program up to help students.
Here's a link to their site, http://www.monroeinstitute.org/]http://www.monroeinstitute.org/

Of course they produce audio for different types of effects. I've only been using it for a couple of days so I can't comment on its full effectiveness, but I have been getting a lot better sleep.
