Here's what it comes down to. Religion is powered by faith, which is belief without evidence or even despite evidence to the contrary. This means if real world facts seem to conflict with your religion, you must discount those scientific realities outright. If somebody asserts that there is a supernatural god then they are responsible for demonstrating how this is true, otherwise we have no reason to believe it just like any other random and unsupported supernatural assertion or claim to special knowledge. But religions greatest tenant is faith which means there is no evidence.

Science on the other hand is a gradual method of observation, testing a hypothesis, and establishing a formal conclusion which is subjected to scrutiny and further testing in the scientific community; it's a learning process that is derived from empirical evidence. I would say that there is no such thing as "bad science" but rather a poorly-drawn conclusion from a set of observations, a failed hypothesis, or just not adhering to the scientific method. And in which case a better supported hypothesis will take a stand. Through science, we achieve an understanding of the universe through a strict, focused series of steps with no expected result because the results will have to be derived. Religion posits an idea and uses support through an ancient text, thus the conclusion first without a plan to derive that particular point on their own.

We are mammals that probably evolved from monkeys. Religion is just for weak minded people IMO. But honestly I doubt that you could fit two of every animal on an ark considering ANIMALS ...like to EAT other ANIMALS!!!! It's all bullshit.

we didnt evolve from modern monkeys... we and modern monkeys evolved from a common ancestor.

- at least the theory of evolution is. if you wish to believe in evolution just research it. many sources out there. look into theories of why chloroplasts and mitochondria are believed to be endosymbionts that lost many of their functions. also can look at the hominid lineage, they have found a few fossils dating back a couple million years now.

also can look at how long modern humans have been around and how long the earth has been around. i believe the analogy is 1 second (humans) compared to 1 hour (earth). also look at the # of species that have existed, i believe they say ~ 99% of species that have existed are now extinct (ofc some evolved).

not to mention, you can look at fossils of other animals that can show some transition.

idk, i guess im one sided though. i never looked into creationism due to heavy science courses and evolution just made sense to me.

evolution is bullshit.

We may have adapted, but not evolved.

It is all opinion, and it is impossible to really sway the vote.

Read the Bible, then study evolution, then get back to me.

It is the only way to really understand.

Then don't ask for other people's opinions moron.

if you aren't willing to put in time and effort to look into a specific subject, then you shouldn't ask people for their OWN opinion.

it is your decision to make, and you need to have the proper education.

LOL, since when did i ask for other peoples' opinions. i didnt make the thread. i was contributing my opinion and said i have no background in creationism. i suppose i didnt make it clear that i didnt care i had a lack of background knowledge of creationism.

thats why my education consists of science and not religion based courses

/e i prefer to believe in science and not stories which are in many cases exaggerated. its all personal preference though as you somewhat mentioned before

Exactly. I didn't either.

But if you look at "Matthew 24" you will see. And it only takes 2 minutes, you don't have to real the whole bible, just take a quick glance at the words of Jesus Himself.

Google: "Matthew 24" (Jesus tells us how the end will go down.)

I don't think anyone with the proper education has ever come to the conclusion that Creationism is correct.
