Honestly, you've already taken the first step.  You have to acknowledge it before you can stop being scared of it - you'd be shocked how many people never acknowledge that fear and thus let it rule them subconsciously.

I guess the biggest thing that did it for me was to understand how many good things there are about death and aging.  Aging brings with it wisdom, if you're willing to put in the effort it takes to derive that wisdom, so that's pretty cool.  It also gives you more chances to just plain not give a fuck about nothin, which is always a fun sensation.

As far as death - well, the planet would fucking suck without death.  Humans would have overpopulated the planet long ago, or else they would have decided to stop fucking and breeding, and you wouldn't be around.  Plus, you think it's bad having to deal with old people who are set in their ways now?  Imagine if you had to convince some ancient Egyptian that iPods aren't really Set's method of devouring your soul through your eyes.  That'd be pretty fucked up.

Basically, you have to make peace with it.  Look death in the eye (metaphorically speaking, of course) and tell it that you know it's going to get you eventually, but that you're going to have a damned fine time doing what you can to avoid the bastard.

Well said, although I believe humans have already overpopulated Earth, unfortunately.

not yet. 10 billion is overpopulated.

*Shrugs* There's too much poverty, disease, starvation and war for me to think that we aren't already overpopulating the planet. You know?

Well-said AiNedeSpelCzech.

The best part about it, is that u don't have to accept it. It comes on its own.

It's going to happen and there's nothing you can do to stop it. No need to worry about the inevitable.

Yea shits pretty shitty, First off like that one spechz dude said gotta realize that its gonna happen..
As far as aging i always think about jr high and highschool and think man i miss those days, but... thats life, gotta just remember that, that point in your life was awesome, so only more reason to make the next steps better...
as far as dieing, idk it scares me to think of being nothing, never going to be anything ever again, but its obvious that EVERY living thing does this... more reason to live your life, though living your life doesnt mean you gotta go fucking 140 in your car and be gnarly, but live you life in the sense that you complete your goals, do shit that is reasonable and idk follow your dreams...

vouch very good way to put it other then "its inevitable and all that shit" i mean ofc it is but put it on the man much lighter,

and if ur scared of death btw. think of all the other billions of people that gotta think about it. thats how i do it and thats how i feel better because i think of every other human being that lives like me. i believe they gotta live their life so ima live mine

ive been to too many funerals and ive had many friends die at a young age, theres no way you can accept death or living in a way, the way your gonna feel it, it wont change. i think just like u but ive seen death come many times and its not pretty

if you think about it.... how did the people from past generations think about death? well we are in the time of technology right now. not saying we were the first, but we grew up in the worst time even we got food money, shelter. theres so much the government is hiding from us that puts american lives at risk so theres much more u need to be scared of

btw i forgot to mention that if u think about death like this. means u need to gtfo the house and do shit to occupy your time, because if you have enough time to think about death and it to effect you in this way, means u do nothing but sit on the comp all day and wonder things that lead onto the next, if u dont have plenty of friends and things to do.
ur gonna end up like how u are now. when you go out all the time, do u think about death? no your too occupied

i forget who said it but it was a famous poet or philosopher who said something like: "i do not fear death. i have been dead billions and billions of years before i was born, and have suffered no inconvenience from it"
