well alot of phones dont have wifi, maybe they do, idk. and they defintatly wouldnt allow u to run skype. isnt an app basically a cellphone providers name for a program lol.

but yea noose, your right, but then again, any starbucks? and if u have internet at home, then at least u know u got a homephone, gauranteed. afterall thats all people had just 10 years ago.

idk, i just got a cellphone for the first time a few weeks ago. my uncle gave me a pay as u go. but ive been thinking, theres gotta be something thats way cheaper and makes way more sense

many do... especially man smart phones and shit like ipod/ iphone prolly do too!

because phones are basically minicomputers too. If your too cheap to pay for a phone plan this might be a good idea. Free wireless really isn't widely available enough to be relied on in most areas though, it would be a bitch to find a free wifi every single time you wanted to make a call or send a text.

This... the 144 foot from wireless router is very restricting... u would have to pay MEGABUCKS (like many BB and smart phone users do) to get wireless INTERNET :P

and for what youre thinking of? iphone has this talk n video feature already!

Regarding the lack of widespread free wifi coverage, I recall reading somewhere about efforts trying to use the old analog airwaves for internet access now that TV stations no longer use them.

im trying to think of ways to save money. if payphones were still around and still cost a decent price, i would just stick piece of paper with important numbers in my pocket and use payphones.
i currently pay 20$ a month to fill up my pay as u go.
i just got a flyer advertising comcast internet for $25 a month. boom, with that and nokia n900, or any MID, i have a reliable homephone. as for going out, wifi is as common as pay phones used to be. when i need to make a call or check my messages, it isnt gonna be hard to find wifi.

so instead of paying a combined 45$ a month for internet and phone, just pay for one. the nokia prolly costs like 200$. itly pay for itself in a year.

what do u guys think?

if you can get access to wifi everywhere then i would say go for it. also if you dont "need" to send/receive calls/texts at a moments notice than id say go for it

ahh i see homie...

well what you COULD do..(and this is kinda strange but my ex did it because every place she went had wifi... from uni to certain malls to her own home)
get pay as u go for the cellphone and like 500 basic texts a month
then use your ipod (or if your cellphone has it) the message system compatible with wifi for free...

like so..
