Mars atmosphere is roughly 100 times thinner than the Earths and agreed about the distance from the sun. However, The fact is cooling is defeintly a possibility as well.

1. when atmospheric CO2 reacted with surface rocks and water to form a solid carbonate mineral
2. when impacts from asteroids or comets blew away the atmosphere
3. when the solar wind stripped away the upper atmosphere

This is how it happened to Mars, Which could happen to Earth as well.

These are all very unlikely possibilities. Even if they were to occur it would take millions of years. We'd have to lose our magnetosphere for solar wind to start having any serious effect on the atmosphere, this may happen some day but not for a long time. It would likely take quite a while for a significant amount of co2 to leave the atmosphere as you describe. If a meteor or comet large enough to blow off the atmosphere hit us any effect on climate wouldn't matter. We'd all be very dead and the planet would be a ball of molten rock for some time.

If global warming is man made

lol lies the next thing under water vapor in our athmosphere is Co2 so I dont know where you get your inoformation but you may want to look into it a bit more

You should probably follow your own advice... I'm doubting you have any idea what your talking about since you think Co2 is a main component of the atmosphere but also said a measurement of 360 ppm of co2 was high...

actually for one i never said Co2 was the main componet I said water vapor was, and also I never said that 360 PPM was high so yeah... Maybe you should read it a bit more clearly.... Yes I was wrong about the N2 but it was a overlook.... If you would of asked me yesterday I would not of known anything about this topic I literaly learned this on my free time with that being said I never once said that I knew it all. Its nice to beable to debate something as long as people dont take it to heart as you did and start attacking....

I think that you need to cool off

well since no one else is saying anything I'll just explain

Mars' atmosphere is made up of 95% Co2 and its temperature is averaged at -67 degrees F. So with that being said they say that the Co2 going in to our atmosphere is warming our planet. Which is false, even in the polls they show that show warming it also shows some cooling no matter how much they try to skew it to look like its only warming. The station where they take the whole planets Co2 atmospheric lvl (which is around360 PPM) is on top of a volcano in Hawaii. They also have stations that measure the temperature which are all placed in major airports and parking lots. Which of course would only show it warming because of the activity. Scientists have been doing independent studies where they put stations in places where that have less human activitly and it shows that the temperature is actually declineing even during the summer months. So with the evidence presented you could easily say that the planet Earth has the same chance to cool rather than warm.

this is so stupid,

Mars dosent have an electric magnetic field cause its iron core harden and is not longer molten and spinning , the lack of the field has allowed the sun to 100% completely bombard it with its solar wind and blew away the atmosphere whats left is there is due to gravity

if earths iron core harden the same thing would happen but luckily ours is still molten and such

earth magnetic field reflects 99% of the solar wind and the 1% that makes it inside turns into the aurora borliaes that you see in alaska and the south pole etc

True or false there is the same likely hood that global cooling will take place rather than global warming?

Please leave a somewhat detailed opinion on why you think that.

The Earth goes through cycles of heating and cooling. There are micro cycles and several macro cycles. The minor macro is on a 10,000 year repeat, which we are at the end stages of the heating phase. The major macro cycles is at about 400,000 years, which we are in over half way through the heating cycle. The micro cycle is a 28 year warming/cooling cycle which is what we are experiencing. If you look at the news from the late 1970s, early 1980s, global warming was big. It faded out due to the fact that the Earth started cooling back down.

Several places throughout the globe didn't experience a typical summer this year, including most of the Western US. I live in prime wine grape growing area, and we still can't harvest the grapes because of our cold summer. Yes, cold summer. However, this fact was overshadowed by the heat wave in New York, which is the way news wanted it. Don't point out the holes in the story, just what proves your point. On to glaciers now. Yes, some glaciers are receding. Yes, some of the large ice shelves are breaking up. However, There are more glaciers advancing in Alaska and Northern Canada than the amount that are receding. There is one glacier that has been advancing well over a foot a year for the last 30+ years nonstop. Glacier advance and recession is a natural phase.

The whole global warming thing was true, two years ago. Now we will go through a global 'cooling'. In 30 years, global warming will come out again.

e\ Some of my times and data might be a bit off, but still fairly accurate. I'm pulling this all up from stuff I read several months ago.
