OP: wanting to go into space, and enjoying the science/mathematics involved with space are two seperate things, make sure you don't make a life decision based on the small chance you have of getting into space (and thus being stuck in a field that you don't even enjoy).

I think the specific degree is less important than the school you go to. There is a need for scientists from a variety of fields to carry out the many experiments they do in space. You probably not getting in if your not going to a school like MIT or Stanford or Mines or some other very good school.

well.. "niggapete".. iwould suggest that you do a double major physics and math to help you get into nasa at least if you cant be an astronaut..
