Get a macbook. I was skeptical when I bought mine, now I'm sold. It starts up / wakes up on a dime and is so user friendly its ridiculous.

My mac handles SC2 just fine as well, so the gaming front won't be that big of an issue.

I want to buy a new laptop for my birthday, I plan on using it for everyday use.. Facebook, D2SJP, browsing, ect.. i also want to play World of Warcraft on it. im indecisive on what i want to buy, doesnt have to be the most expensive this thats currently out.. i was considering A Mac Book Pro. I love to mess around with garage band on my friends mac... idk how well they perform. im also optimistic about different brands.. any ideas?

Check out the Asus G73JH series of laptops. I recently bought one and it an absoulte bargain for the hardware that comes along with it.

The Compaq Presario CQ62-209WM is a great value purchase. With 3GB RAM and the AMD Athlon II processor, this laptop provides outstanding computing power at a low price.

Unless garage band is worth the 500 dollar price difference between equivilent macs and pcs, get the asus g73 and for 1000 you'll have a laptop that will beat most desktops.

thanks sounds awesome except the processor isnt too great. whats the model?

Don't underestimate the processor, I'm running on a quad core 1.2 GHz processor and it runs games sexily. I haven't treid WoW personally but source engines at high, online, gunfire full blast it still runs at a good 50fps. [Source engine - half life, counter srike etc etc.]

you can almost never run a single application on all four cores at once, and game performance is determined mostly by the GPU anyway. also, judging a processor by its clock rate has been stupid since 2005.

e: I'm getting an Asus U35JC-RX077V myself.

Most applications and games do not support quad core processors anyways. Also, games like WoW are very processor heavy and use barely any GPU power.
