The sun wont super nova or become a black hole. It will expand into a red giant destroying the 3 closest planets then fall into a white dwarf after a while. how do we know this? well there are certain equations used for supernovae and the sun just doesnt have enough mass.

I always thought that the sun would explode in 5 million years, this is good news for future generations. As for myself, I don't give a fuck.

We could still get hit by a gamma ray burst at any time. If its aimed at us from a distant star, we'd never see it coming.

It will die in 5 billion years, destroying earth as it dies. Great succes.

Personally, I'd be shocked if life on Earth outlasts the sun.
