you should mention somewhere in your essay the Large Hadron Collider. and talk about the possible effects of a malfunction.

no you shouldnt, this agrivates scientists and science teachers alike. -there is absolutely no danger here, this is agreed among almost every scientist that is not trying to get media attention.

in theory it could happen but they would disappear very fast due to their small size.. and they would be almost impossible for us to detect..

yep it is now believed that all black holes "evaporate". also they do not grow in size: once formed they do not allow any more matter past the accretion disc. -if they did not evaporate we should see a whole lot more of them in the universe than we have detected.

Even if they didn't evaporate, any blackhole created in the LHC would disappear almost instantaneously.

yep, and we would most likely not detect it at all. these collisions happen every day on earth, only naturally. there is seriosuly no danger and scientists are getting tired of the bad press.

This. The hype and fear stirred up by the creation of the LHC is ridiculous.

I have a project for school, i must have 5 pages of information on black holes, with websites i took info on etc etc.

I pay 150 FG if some1 helps me do that : (Finding good websites etcetc)

I would prefer other websites than wikipedia.

Thank you,

-Seb

Do you really think we have enough energy to produce a real black hole? Doubt it
