Aside from fucking up the entire earth (no more tide changes) I think it's a great idea. Bomb the fuck out of the moon until there's nothing left.

Guys, read close. not bombing it, just rearranging it. They are dropping dead weight into a crater to create a dust cloud that they can analyze. Looking primarily for water or ice, to see if there is existing water on the moon to aid in supporting human life. Then the dust can settle back down to the surface. It is not like they are incinerating material or anything.

i dont care what they might find by hitting the moon with this, but thats just rediculous, i mean, do they realise what they are fucking with? unless this has been done before i would say it would be tough to guess the effects on things like orbit.

And all the cars on earth made the earth spin round round ^^
We would've already nuked ourselves out of orbit long time ago if it was remotely possible with our technology today.

To the bunch of idiots here afraid of tidal change: NO, they are not going to destroy the moon. They are going to make an impact crater to analyze the dustcloud generated by it. The moon is used to getting bombarded by foreign objects, so it's really not much of an issue.
