i do this from time to time with my computer because i like porn better on a 46 inch HDTV then a 21 inch monitor. All you need is a DVI to HDMI connection, then use your Computers speakers, or you can get a splitter that will take your mono into a red/white connection. They don't have the cord at Best Buy (I tried). Frys had the Cord. you may beable to find one online as well, probably for cheaper.

it should just be the hdmi since it gives the best quality from laptop to tv. however i dont have a hdmi cable and never tried it yet with mine- i would just assume you hook it up and shouldnt have to change a setting. (except the setting on tv to make sure you on right mode). when you connect the hdmi cables to both laptop/tv does your laptop go blank at all or does nothing happen at all?

you need to go into your display settings and setup another screen if your using hdmi.
