Religion is dangerous and he is trying to make people who are on the fence into non-believers.
He has the best book out there about it. I like him much more then Christopher Hitchens, now thats a smug guy.
Richard just seems like a nice guy imo.
I also watch some of the youtube videoes of his where he explains science etc. its all very interesting, he interviews people such as Steven Weinberg too.

Hmm, how does he NOT seem like a nice guy? I don`t see it, would be interesting to have a conversation with him imo.

No idea on that book, but "the selfish gene" was good enough I see it used in many college level eco & evolution classes as a supplementary textbook.
He didn't come across as smug in that one, just a well delivered arguement using mostly analogies so even non-bio majors could understand it.
