Most more 'modern' homes nowadays are being built with a bire place as the center, making the logical place for the tv above the fireplace. I think a tv is going to be fine above it, only thing might be that we have to tilt it down a bit for the best viewing angle. The wall above the fireplace already has wire-ends that go behind the wall to hook up on the side.

ours is above the fireplace but we've never used the fireplace lol. alot of ppl do that. the reason for not getting plasma is they just suck.

Ic...yea, we've never had a plasma/lcd/??. I have a nice sized LCD monitor that I hook my laptop up to, so I guess lcd is the way to go?

idk but tvs are expensive so you definately don't wanna mess it up.

if you went projection then you'd need something to project it onto, plus you have to take into account the actual positioning of the projector to be functional(and replacement bulb costs).

but other tvs are generally heavy, and if improperly mounted could result in epic squashing, or even cause a fire (or a fire AND epic squashing XD)

it all depends on the demensions of the room, i'm assuming its to make it so the furnature alligns with the fireplace and the tv at the same time?
