for a race to be comparable in technology levels or less sophisticated is highly improbable. they would most likely be far ahead of us in technology, seeing as how we have not been around very long at all -unless we happen to discover another race in the small window before is becomes what is called a C IV or C V civilization we a rea C 3 and will be for at least 100 more years -we are on the edge of the next classification of being. there could be races that are millions of years old out there.

i watched a 2 hour program about this on the Kansas University channel. was really cool.

some animals, such as crocodiles, cockroaches, mosquitoes, etc, have been around for millions of years more than humans.
YET, we are obviously much more advanced then them.

being around longer =/= being more advanced or sophisticated.
