I'd say Japan, but most developed countries have their own hi-tech stuff.

In terms of buildings and structures, Dubai is quite hi-tech (that building that they keep adding more floors to is pretty cool), but I wouldn't say that it is overall.

Dubai is financed by wealthy Arab oil company owners and western billionaires, the UAE has little to do with it.

Well, yes it is. The U.S.A. I would say has some technology that no other country has, and is looking into technology that could blow nations like Japan away in that sense. It depends what people mean when they say high tech, and what makes Japan such a high tech country then? Is it in a specific field like video game development, or weapons tech. etc...?

Dubai is IN UAE, and since the OP was talking about countries, I mentioned Dubai which is clearly not a country.

But i guess I could clarify on what I meant, I'd say Dubai is structurally the most advanced city, with the most modern buildings and integrated facilities, which Japan has made a lot of advances on other technologies like electronics or cars.

I'd say singapore would be up there, and its sort of like a mixture between Japan and Dubai, but perhaps not as advanced as any of those two countries.

Yea I would say Japan is high tech in their overall society and the consumer market etc...but I think they lack the high tech in their studies of the Universe, atmoic scale or less phenomena, weapons and many more particulars. I think U.S.A.'s concern with matters beyond the typical consumer market and day to day living is what makes them more high tech. Overall Japan seems to be integrating new technoligies into their society faster and is always searching for better products, but they really dont go beyond that.

Its because they can't, Japan is not allowed to produce weapons, produce military vehicles, air crafts or even have an army. Thus they don't have a space program, so definitely America wins in that matter I guess.

actually, sweden and whatever the hell other countries are around there(i forget, i know i'm a dumbass), they are pretty high tech, they make a lot of finds in tech research
