i definately think its contagious

discovery planet had this guy on from some school that said you yawn to cool down your brain, so if u like put a cool pack on ur forehead, u will never have the urge to yawn, crazy eh?

1.Restore normal respiration.
2.Bored/tired

when i see someone else yawn..

I generally Yawn when Im tired but for some reason when I see the word Yawn I have an urge to yawn and usually do

i watched a program about yawning and many believe it balances the CO2 levels in your brain or something like that.

i yawn when someone else yawns.

its not contagious, thats just in your head. we think it is, so it is... I know its not, so its not.

Yawning, is actually a reaction to low levels of oxygen getting to the brain... (not Dangerously low, but your brain needs more air, so it forces you to take a very large breath, and pressurizes your sinuses.)

now, as for me... im starting to get very tired, and I can tell that my eyes are out of focus and my brain is oxygen deprived, so im yawning.

also, you do it from a pressurization problem in your sinuses.

those are really the only two reasons, save for it being a mental thing.
