Your religious beliefs aren't ethical issues.

Religious beliefs? I didn't know one had to be religious in order to condemn murder.

See, the thing is that even if abortion is murder, this is simply about what to do with the bodies after the murder is already done. It's not like there's going to be a huge spike in abortions because every girl wants to be the first on her block to donate some stem cells.

Yes, because ethics are a thing of the past amirite?

I mean, lets be fair, Hitler's medical experiments were just srs bsns, nothing unethical (or thus distasteful) about that shit no?

You're defining life with religious ideals.

Therefore, they're religious beliefs.

And if it can destroy people? Is it still worth it? Continuing research in stem cells crosses the moral boundaries set by society or religion. And within these two groups, it becomes an ethical issue, not a "religious" issue. Why is it ethical? Because society has religion tied in.

Comparing stem cell research to Hitler's era is a valid discussion. It sound absurd because you're retarded and one has a very negative image. Hitler's control gave companies test subjects which came about modern-day/common aspirin. Let's not forget BMW isn't the only "Nazi-sled" out there.

My overall view on the lift is science making progression. Although I think the money can be spent on fixing the economy and reassuring the public that it is safe to spend. It's like why spend money overseas for poor people, which the United States does a lot of, when I see homeless people in metropolitan areas...? Economy and global warming takes precedence...

Another thread full of fail.

Ethics and morals are nearly extinct so that's almost a moot point. If you want to argue that the methods of harvesting stem sells is either ethical/unethical or moral/immoral, then please start another thread.

I believe the person who started this thread wanted to discuss the impact on stem cell research lifting the ban will have. To me it's fairly clear. The research will have less financial restrictions in the US so more R&D will be done here and more investors and research groups will join in. Usually more resources = better faster research. I can only speculate what that means to the field of study. It will probably lead to more useful applications and more ethics debates.

Off topic, I think it will be interesting to see if they can achieve "Jurassic Park" type cloning using dna from extinct animals in their decendents embryo/stem cells. I'd rather see things done with animals than humans and just avoid the ethics in it all.

What Dr. Eduard Wirth's did was not science. He did stuff like sew up two twins together to make conjoined twins and other messed up shit.

it gets a little annoying when people compare things to hitler. Stalin was worse, and the list of evil is never ending.
