Guess I stick an Ohmmeter on it then, and hope for the best.

It currently has only the stock system in it. It runs low level(unamplified) outputs to the trunk, and into an amplifier. From the amplifier, it sends the signal out to the speakers. I want to take the low level signal already run from the radio to the amplifier, and split it so it can run to both the factory amp and to my additional amp. However, if I split it, then if one amp has a lower impedance the majority of the signal will go to that amp, and I want it to be equally split.

Is money an issue? Because i would scrap it all and get a 4ch and a monoblock.

How much power does your original amp push out? and what is the power of the new amp?

Well, the problem with that is that it has a great stock system in it, I just want some more low end.

Stock amp puts out 360W, 8 ouput channels, to 8 speakers. 2 tweeters, 2 mid, 4 woofers.

And the Fosgate amp I am putting in is a 4 channel 300W, so I don't think that would be a smart swap.

All I want to do is give the low end a little more quality "oomph", I don't want to be another teen boomer.

Alright, I am trying to parallel a low-level signal output from a radio that is already going to one amplifier to a new amplifier that I am installing as well, and I need to find the input impedance on that specific channel of the existing amplifier so that I can install the additional amplifier with the same amount to balance the distribution of the low level signal. How do I go about doing this? I don't think it is as simple as putting and ohmmeter on it and reading it, so I wanted to ask first.

Google was not much help in this case, unless I completely missed it.

The end goal here is to be able to continue using the stock subs in my car, as well as the additional one that I am working on installing in a different position to provide better directional coverage, as the stock speakers are effective in the rear 40% of the cab only. I have the ability to add in a few ms of delay if necessary to prevent phasing issues, so that is not a concern.

Still looking, haven't got up the nerve to risk damaging the stock amp.

B: I know what you mean smile.gif

Whats the RMS rating on your amps and speakers? (This will help deciding where to run what)

8 channel amp? never heard of one. 360/8 = fuck all amps per channel.

What size and watts are your subs?

It seems like your stereo is terribly underpowered for the amount of speakers you have.

Pm me if you wanna chat about this more smile.gif
