what about polar shifting? the fact that the magnetic field shielding us from the suns radiation can fluctuate from strong to weak in areas, and every 10,000 years or so, completely disappears as the magnetic poles exchange positions. is that considered part of the global warming conspiracy or do the paranoids disregard that so they can further blame ppl for the inevitably imperfect technology we use.

The latter.
People disregard solar activity 100% no matter how similar the correlation between temperature increase and solar activity is.

Source on it completely disapearing (let alone every 10,000 years)?

I crushed this topic about a month ago...I should dig it out of here and bump your heads with something real.

Long story short, the Earth goes through heating and cooling cycles based on MAJOR things like, trajectory around the sun, solar flares, etc. and smaller things like CO2 in the atmosphere.

Human induced global climate change is real, but we don't know to what degree. Allowing politicians to twist the the still unproven facts to control the sheeple is the real debate.

Can YOU sift throught the bullshit and make your own decision?

Nova special lol

ive watched it several times

but yes, as the poles exchange positions, the magnetism becomes unbalanced and the field surrounding the earth is lost until they re balance in the opposite position

the 10,000 years i cant say for sure is correct; could be far longer but i remember being confused about the recentness of the last shift

this is the number ive heard, but not sure on the magnetic field completely disappearing. That part i have NEVER heard.

On the series The Universe from the history channel they said that it disapearing was false & that it can take thousands of years to switch, no quick switch with it disapearing ( I guess it does weaken though). 10,000 years also sounds way too much of an underestimate for how often it switches.

oh i see good to know. i remember them sayin it may take thousands of years but i thought for sure they said it diminished more and more and for a time was totally gone. and yea every 10,000 years seems way to short too me, but i do remember thinking wtf when i heard it.

This guy has an interesting viewpoint.

If we mess up thing too bad I'm wagering that near total oceanic algal bloom would occur tho.

Although, that wouldn't be too good for us either. ohmy.gif
