Dark matter is just a way to explain the mass of the universe we can't see. We can't prove it's there because you can't actually see it.

actually we can observe the effects. We just can't detect it.

and it's effects can't ever truly be observed because of the effects of anti matter and it's intantaneous creation and destruction by collision with matter which results in a net energy enthropy of 0 but is always occuring at the microscopic level and really messes with any attempts to come up with exact calculations and figures
