Hey, Im up for that, its expensive though.

Plus unfortunately it'll be a last in first out process (if it works) where the last people frozen, using the most current techniques, will be revived first.

But if I have a whole bunch of extra cash at the end of my life I'm freezing myself tongue.gif
(depending if I feel the technology has advanced far enough by the time I die)

if you want to imagine FTL travel then read the enders game series (aka enders game icon_pointr.gif speaker for the dead icon_pointr.gif xenocide icon_pointr.gif children of the mind)

it gives 1 theory of ftl stuff

also there is ftl communication being researched right now

it is believed that if you split a quark in 1/2 and move them a distance apart then turn one icon_pointr.gif the other will turn at the exact same time

they have not been able to test this at any big distance though because of the technology required to separate quarks and keep them separated

I remember reading this short story by Stephan Baxter (one of my favorite authors, my books are falling to pieces) that deals with that quantum communications idea, very interesting stuff.

Not a human being, but definitely something else. I would say within 100 years.

How fast does information travel through stuff anyways? (this isn't really my thing, I don't know the correct terminology for any of this)

The speed of light (if it is part of the electromagnetic spectrum), slower if it's sound or something.

The quantum communication Blah58 brought up is interesting (I couldn't tell you if it would work though, heck even in the story I mentioned humans never figured it out and that was sci-fi. not real life), but it'd be insanely hard to utilize.

EDIT:The story I was talking about was a Stephan Baxter one, I'll look it up.

You talking about the Ender's Game thing? I've read every book in that series (except the later ones on Ender's side). But Ender's Game and the Bean/Peter stories. Interesting shit to read as a 5th grader.

Tell me about it, I'd like to be able to change my TV channels faster.

(On a serious note, it does limit computation speed).

EDIT: "More Than Time or Distance" was the name of the story.
