So I have an electric buzzer that has a charging dock. Its charging dock has an end similar to what is pictured below. The red/blue plastic insert that i am pointing at broke out of the charger. So now there are 2 metal rings, the outer one and a thin inner one that was on the inside of the plastic insert. I plugged my buzzer in, took some fenangiling but it still sits in. On the power brick it lights up as if it is charging as well. What I am wondering is if this is safe? or will it cause issues?

There is a chance it can short-circuit without the plastic. If it does it will most likely damage the charger or blow a fuse in it if it has one. A smart charger may have a breaker inside that will shut off until you replug it, most laptop chargers do that.

In the absolute worst case scenario it could cause a fire, but that's unlikely.

Pretty sure the plastic is the to stop the positive and negative from touching lol. Maybe smooth super glue or silicone that can't conduct electricity in the like the plastic piece is sitting. Make sure it can withstand the heat also so you don't have a sticky mess in your charge port

Have you tried to put the ring back on, or you could just use a roll of electric tape and a razor blade and make your own, or call the company to see if they make a replacement part for that charger, or it looks similar to other chargers - you might be able to replace it yourself. Or you could just plug it in and see it it works for now. Ok gl.
