watched a mini series by steven spielberg called Taken. In the story the aliens powered/controlled their craft with the power of thought, to me it sounded like an interesting concept. Thoughts on this anyone?

Anything that's depicted in a movie I label possibility. Except light speed travel and those teleport pads in Star Trek, that's pretty much it.

maybe not organic matter but i think the concept of the transporter/beaming technology is possible if you have 2 platforms. i believe they have already transported some molecules or some shit like that

I'm not arguing that they will never be able to transport a human body. I'm concerned more of where does that persons conscious go during the teleportation. I believe that the body will be teleported, but the person will have no brain activity whatsoever and be presumed dead.
