Could there be a monstrous, undiscovered star orbiting our own sun and scattering killer comets throughout our solar system? Are scientists on the verge of discovering this ultimate death star?

Very interesting video! I had seen some like that, but they really went into detail and made it as a legit one.

I found it interesting that in the WISE survey, they actually found that something is disturbing the Oort Cloud right now!

Thanks for posting.

No, there could not be. We would have detected it as soon as Gauss figured out how to apply Newton's principle of gravity to multiple bodies, and found that the prediction didn't match reality due to a previously unknown mass. The prediction did match.

edit: oh, that far out. I assumed it was talking about something closer.

I'm drawing up a diagram that I think you guys will find interesting. I'll post it when I get home.

I might also try simulating this scenario in Universe Sandbox, but:

Something is causing the orbits of the outer Kuiper belt objects to be elongated. I wonder if perhaps they reach a mid point, then go back into regular orbits around the binary star. (So in the diagram, that planet on the right is the outermost planet of the binary.) If you know what I mean.

This diagram isn't the best, there are a few things I'm still going to change to actually show the transition area.
