So the assumption of this thread is that aliens are real. I'm not here to argue the reality or irrationality of aliens. If aliens come in contact with us first, technically this would mean that they are superior to us right? Because we don't have the capability of coming in contact with them or traveling to their planet/habitat assuming that they are real.

If this is true, why haven't they completely destroyed us yet? They see what we do to our own people (wars, murder etc). Are they so far past us that they could of possibly achieved a peaceful society? They have seen our dominant nature when given a bit of power, are they going to want us to maybe one day catch up to them and dominate?

Maybe. Maybe they'll find us when we're looking for them. The universe is a big place, so we could have the means to find them, and we're just looking in the wrong place. We may be the most technologically advanced civilization. We may not be.

Also just because they're superior technologically doesn't mean they're peaceful. And if they were, then destroying a civilization doesn't seem to fit their ideals. Furthermore, if they're smart, they'll realize that not everyone conforms to the ideologies you feel make humans inherently bad.

If we're assuming aliens have interstellar travel, then we know they're so far beyond us in technology that us trying to fight them would be synonymous with the ancient Romans trying to fight the modern US military.

Correction, The universe is an ENDLESS place.

lol now to go off topic;
The planets in our solar system are just a bunch of marbles floating in an endless dark mass if you think about it(obv).
There could be another earth, if not hundreds of thousands of them just like ours, behind us or ahead of us in evolution and we may never know.

Aliens exist. I'm not saying they are monstrous creatures that are green and slimy, or have weird eye balls and make clicking sounds when they communicate as they are depicted in books/movies etc etc...because we ourselves are a bunch of aliens. There has to be another solar system with an energy source out of our reach that we will never know about that has life blooming on it. Anyone agree?

I wouldn't say *has* to be, but the chances, given the size of the universe, is pretty damn high.

I agree fighting them would be completely pointless and if they came in contact with us first its like fighting a war we will never win.
So now lets say that an "alien" actually was captured by someone on the earth, why hasn't the civilization that its from tried again to send someone here, or to try and free the "alien".

And technically if there are aliens. Are we considered aliens to the aliens?

You're making rash assumptions over what could be.

It's good to bear in mind the idea of alien life being microbial at best as an implied control to the more 'Hollywood' impressions we tend to adhere too.

They could be, but starting your base of assumptions off of that idea alone is pretty narrow.
