I'm just wondering how many people watch/read enough about Physics to develop an educated opinion as to whether we are part of a multiverse.. or a universe? If you do believe in a multiverse how do you believe the multiverse is set up?

I believe the Membrane Theory that we have tons of universe membranes that collide and form new universes...

It's a mathematical necessity introduced by string theory, and it's a physical possibility as a result of it, but at present there's no evidence of another universe. It's neat to think about, though.

Yah, I know that it requires 11 dimensions for String/Mtheory to be possible and I sure do hope they find evidence sooner or later

The problem with a multi-verse theory is that it is difficult to imagine out there. I would think the equations make sense, but my mind just cant conceptualize that in a practical sense. It's a bit wacko.

The real question is if there are other universes, are they even accessible to us. They might exist and be perfectly inaccessible to us so we could never know about them.

For an example that we can relate to, in 100 billion years, the distant galaxies will have accelerated away from us so much that they'll be moving faster away from us than the speed of light (space-time's expansion is not limited by c) that any light from them will never be able to reach living beings in a distant galaxy. Those beings will only be able to observe the stars in their own local universe. Because of this they will believe that the universe is limited to just their own galaxy. They will come to the wrong conclusion based on all evidence that is possible to gather.

Loosely quoting Carl Sagan. Nice

If there wasn't more than 1 universe (I voted yes), there definitely was something before the big bang. Probably another universe that just contracted like a dying star just to explode again into this current thing.

Did you know that Big Bang theory doesn't suggest that there was nothing prior to the Big Bang, and that only people trying to discredit it will say otherwise?

We ourselves are our own universe, we serve as a vessel for other life forms to flourish and complete their life cycles, just like a planet is our home. 100 trillion cells in a human body, 100 trillion planets in our universe? galaxies?. We are made by many different organisms and are vast in life, just like the universe we live in.
