I dont rule it out 100%. I actually talked to a Mayan woman about it in Mexico, and she showed me what they had to say about it. She was also convinced there would be a worldwide cataclysm. My wife wasn't happy to hear it.

I guess time will tell, not long to go now.

What does everyone else think about it?

The Mayan Calander has 3 cycles, kind of like a clock having a second hand, a minute hand and an hour hand. The Mayan Long Calander ends on December 21st 2012, and Like a 24 hour clock that strikes midnight, it will begin a new day with the first day of the year just like our 12 month calander starts again on January 1st the day following December 31st each year.

There is no reason for any other outcome as far as I can see, after all the alignment on the Galactic Plain that will occur on Dec. 21st 2012 theoreticly occurs every 65,000 years, why would 2012 be of any significance?

Also remember on the news they actually had another mayan saying that we misinterpretted the mayan symbols of whats gonna happen on dec 21st 2012, so theortically its not actually gonna happen according to that mayan man. but something else will happen on that same date, as to what it is we dont know for sure

We're nearing the end of the final "Age"

And its funny because it lines up with the bible a bit too.

If the Mayans were able to predict the end of things, why were they not able to predict their own demise...?

It's blown out of proportion by Hollywood and wacko theories.

The world will not end in 2012.

My calendars have come to an end in December of every year that I've been alive (and for thousands of years before that, too) without the world ending. Nothing will happen as a result of the Mayan calendar ending either.

Its frustrating when people use this example, the Mayan Calendar is not designed like that. These are not years they're talking about.

What they actually say about it is that Bolon Yokte will return to the earth, and there will be events of total destruction and chaos.
