So like every 10 or 20min my screen will shake a little and white lines will come up then everything just freezes besides the mouse. Anyone know what could be causing this?

The first half sounded like it was a problem with your monitor cable, but you're saying all of the programs freeze as well, and you can only move your mouse (but not actually doing anything with it)? No idea. Can you hear any unusual sounds, like grinding or your computer fan sounding like a jet engine?

Monitor could be on its way out.
Did you buy it recently? and if so, is there a warranty?

If you have another monitor you could borrow, try hooking it up and see if it still does it.

If it doesn't, then throw your old monitor out and get a new one. If you can't afford a new one, look for a cheap one on craigslist.

yes absolutely, download a temperature software like riva tuner, or gpu temp. A faulty monitor wouldnt cause programs to freeze. Also if it were the monitor the mouse would also have the same symptoms everything else is showing.
