As the description says what are your views on HGE. I for one will be biased as I am pursuing a career in it.

I like the idea of people being able to have their own choice on how things will turn out and/or to be immune to certain things.

Yet I also dislike how you have one side of the world genetically engineered and the other side jealous. I have a feeling I'll be starting another world war :D
Any and all discussion encouraged.

Designer Babies? I don't see why not. Sounds like it'll be incredibly expensive though, so the vast majority of people won't even be able to dream of taking part in it. I don't think a stratification like what you're describing (the movie Gattaca rings a bell) will ever happen because of that.

That's not even a bible quote, so this isn't just spam; it's full-on retarded. Learn your religion.

Genesis 6:3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years."

I was just going by memory, let me find the verse where he says that he regrets making humans....

Ah, here we go:

Genesis 6:7 And the LORD said, "I will wipe this human race I have created from the face of the earth. Yes, and I will destroy every living thing--all the people, the large animals, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and even the birds of the sky. I am sorry I ever made them."

I'm going to have to say that, while i dont know the specifics, genetic engineering is just a bad idea. GM foods are obviously detrimental to our health. I dont think doing this to humans will favor any better

i guess i wouldnt be so against it, but first i would want some extremely excrucating studies done to confirm the safety. I mean lots and lots of 3rd partied peer reviewed studies for saftey confirmation for every aspect. But from the sounds of it, its going to fuck a lot of things up

i think it would be much easier just to take care of our health in our natural state, it would be much simpler and we already know it works. We dont die prematurely to most things any more since advancements of emegerncy medcine and sanatation. I dont see why this would even be nessessary

Regret isn't the same thing as repentance. Again, learn your religion.

KJV: Genesis 6:7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

Taking the whole thing by it's context, He explains how He will destroy man. That is the reason repentance can be used or swapped for the word regret, because He is actually taking action to destroy them and turn from what He did.

is that before he flooded the earth (Noah's Ark) or after?
if its after then im sure he's just reffering to when Jesus comes back to earth to bring all of his followers to heaven and everyone else goes to hell (Revalations)
