Having a fourth spatial dimension wouldn't affect time at all, in much the same way that having a second or a third spatial dimension doesn't affect time at all. In order to understand this, pretend you're a fish in a very shallow pool of water. You can only swim forward/backward and side-to-side. It's so shallow that you can't even tilt your body enough to look up or down. You live on a 2-D plane. Now, what would you think if all of a sudden a person stepped into that pool of water in front of you? Clearly, they came out of the third spatial dimension and passed through your 2-D plane. From your perspective, that person's foot would have just appeared out of nowhere. In the exact same way, if someone that was living in a four (spatial) dimensional universe and they passed through our 3-D space, we would observe them as if they appeared out of nowhere, and they could disappear in the exact same way just by changing their fourth spatial dimension coordinate again.
yeah exactly. nicely put

wat puzzles me is y are theses instances where a 4d object would pass thru our realm and would be seen not happen often enough?. in the book, other than aliens, it doesnt say of any phenomenon of a 4d object passing through our 3d world. or more shortly put my question is " Shouldn't there be often appearances of weird objects in our space and leave it without a trace, if there really was a 4th spatial dimension?"
