in about 3.7 billion years apparently

I think you're just trolling in a failed attempt to prove a point, arguing about facts which you fail to understand.

Does this have anything to do with the sun expanding/exploding?

Philosophically or mathematically, the end of time makes no sense.

We dont have the means of measuring the universe, not even close. To say that it is in finite expansion then it will contract later is total crap. No body has any idea. Its like the cavemen trying to explain the lifecycle of stars without any means of observing stars outside their visible spectrum.

Since we can't prove time even had a beginning, either philosophically or mathematically, im going to make a safe bet that it will keep going. It would undeniably be a complete contradiction to go from an state of existance to a lack of all states (non existance)

You can clearly see how this is an illogical idea.

But honestly, why do we care? Dont we have more important things to study or worry about?

this is ludicrous. as the toothfairy said we cannot even see 90% of visible galaxies due to expansion so we have no idea how big the universe is. more and more astronomers are abandoning the big bang theory daily, pointing to an infinite amount of matter, stars and infinite amount of time going forward and backward. i think these guys wanted to get their name in the books, they didnt actually do anything different, they simply suggested that the reason they cannot compute spatial expansion is because it cannot exist without time collapsing. lol at "50-50 chance". how the fuck did they come up with that number? ludicrous.

i think its senseless for those who arent scientists to worry about things like this. theres a high chance of the world being destroyed by a meteor seeing as how we only really survey some 15% of the sky. the sun expanding or undergoing a supernova isnt something were likely to predict so easily, and even if we did, what then? you gonna be around in 3.7 billion years to tell the scientists they were wrong or not?
