I want to buy a new laptop for my birthday, I plan on using it for everyday use.. Facebook, D2SJP, browsing, ect.. i also want to play World of Warcraft on it. im indecisive on what i want to buy, doesnt have to be the most expensive this thats currently out.. i was considering A Mac Book Pro. I love to mess around with garage band on my friends mac... idk how well they perform. im also optimistic about different brands.. any ideas?

Get a desktop unless you absolutely need the portability.

i already have a desktop. i just like the "portability" and freedom of a laptop more.

Get an HP

I got mine for 1,000 bucks and it has 1.6ghz quad core, 4gb ddr3 ram, 500gb harddrive and i got an upgraded gfx card

its a great deal, i love mine and works better than any desktop ive ever had

I got this last winter, so im sure there have been updates to the components since then, but this works perfectly fine for me

I recommend not getting a dv6 series model. I had one, it has design flaws. It will burn itself out if you stress it. The heatsink of the CPU runs over the northbridge before reaching the fan. Result: cooked CPU & NB. It took a year to die, and after it died I was out of warranty.

Toshiba & Sony are both good brands for their quality (though laptops will last shorter than desktops anyway).I currently have a Sony VAIO VPC-E series. If you're prepared to spend a little bit more, get the VGN-F11 series. Only get a MBP if you really want it and don't have a problem with spending a lot of money for worse hardware than a Windows laptop, but it has OSX. All up to you.

if ur planning on getting macbook pro, just get hp tm2 with customized model i5 up to 1.73GHZ turbo boost + 5450 ATI graphics and 4gb ram+ 500gb HDD.
This will fairly last you long and very useful since its tablet+touch screen PC. You probably won't have problem playing WoW on this machine. This will go approx close to $1000 depending on how you customize it. I'm getting mine in a week and my friend has a model before tm2 that was AMD but that thing was fairly nice and i5 > amd so I'm pretty sure this machine will completely satisfy me for sure : )
