It is the same exact thing as a black hole -- a white hole was only a theoretical reversal of the properties of a black hole when it was first thought up, and thus scientists said that it too had immense gravitational pull like a black hole (gravity would not reverse in this case), but instead of sucking in matter it would eject it at the event horizon. However Hawking proved that blackholes emit radiation at its event horizon as well and thus lose mass. Therefore upon death of a black hole, it would emit any remaining matter that it had engulfed in the form of radiation. Therefore he proved that the mathematical reversal of a black hole was indeed just a black hole.
Can you explain this statement "However Hawking proved that blackholes emit radiation at its event horizon as well and thus lose mass.". I don't see how a black hole can lose mass that has already passed the event horizon. No electromagnetic waves can escape once they are on the other side of the event horizon, and if they can't escape there can be no loss of internal matter......can you send me a link, or give me some information on where i can find Hawking's proof?
