Hey, i just kinda fused mine and my brothers computers because mine crashed and he didnt want his. so i got my g-force fx 5200 128mb video card and my amd athalon 3000+ processor (2.17ghz) in his. it has 768 ram

can anyone tell me how decent or crappy it is based on that?

like 250gb of storage

rate it 1-10? i know its nothing new... Also, what is a decent Ghz processor nowadays? ima comp noob

i built my roommate a brand new PC for $375


4gigs DDR2 1066 ram (2 gig sticks times 2)
2.3ghz AMD PHenom X4 quad core processor
530 watt PSU
Rosewill case
new DVD RW
Socket AM2 DDR2 1066 motherboard


a hard drive would be about $50-60 on top of that for 250-500 gigs, maybe more

and he is using onboard graphics for now, to space out the cost

onboard graphics is Radeon 3300 128mb sideport memory, 512mb total /w shared ram


the computer has 2 PCI E X16 2.0 slots as well as 2 more memory slots and a max of 4 more gigs of ram


anyways, you could get a FAR better setup (assuming re-use of your Case, DVD RW, Hardrive, floppy, etc (dont reuse PSUs) for around $250-300 (for the core components, motherboard, memory, ram)

i woulda just got a non on board graphics mobo buy a cheap evga and used step up within 6 months

Dude....this PC is good only if you dont play any games (except maybe Diablo :D ) and you use it only for surfing and some basic stuff.

haha i have the same video card, a 1.8 processor, 160 gig hard drive, and 2.5 gigs of ram (my mobo only has 3 slots O_o)
but then again i got this computer free from a friend and i've just been adding parts so.... yeah. you aren't alone
