Marine sciences are the dunces of sciences.

Real degrees offer majors in primary sciences and possible employment.

It's kinda like philosophy. It's fucking easy, and you end up working at as a checkout chick at a grocery store.

Texas A&M is a very good school for both of those majors.

one of the best in the country....

Galveston Texas.... if it is still there.

CatchPhrase, don't be so offended -- hes technically right, you shouldn't be majoring in those. Major in plain biology if anything, and then do a masters with marine bio or whatever. Doing your four years of plain biology will open your mind to new things you would have never thought of, and you learn hard core biology that you need to go into any sort of bio field obviously -- it makes you versatile.

My suggestions would be De Pauw University, Brown, Boston U, and Tufts is really good as well.

if you're thinking of majoring in biology, then you should INSTEAD major in chemistry (or at least get a minor) because biology is all chemistry, with just a few extra classes about biological systems (biochemistry). The rut of the work is chemistry (you have do chem labs, etc), and a few people I know who were originally bio majors have realized how dumb it is, and have switched to chemistry.

However, that's just plain ole' biology. If you're going to specialize (molecular/cellular biology, etc), then dont listen to me.

but yea, especially dont major in marine bio unless you're a girl with a hard-on for dolphins.

This is pretty inaccurate.

I'd ignore it.
