I wonder why there are no nearby quasars, perhaps there is not enough gas near the center of present galaxies for the black holes at the middle to produce the gas jets characteristic of quasars?
I mean the quasars we see probably don't exist in the forms we see them, because of the great distances invloved and the time it took for their light to reach us.
Most Quasars are actually moving away from earth at nearly the speed of light which is why they are so far away. This mostly likely due to the expansion of the universe.
