So, I was pretty good at gears 1 and 2 but with this game I cannot kill anything lol any advice like game tips ?

How? Gears 3 is way easier to kill people, every weapon is good.

It seems that almost every time I shoot someone point blank they just shrug it off and blow me away

just campaign it 4 a bit ull get better than go to multiplayer

Stay with a team mate dnt try to fight alone, ive been gettin double teamed and tripled like crazy,and its harder to clutch 3ppl in this one then the first and second.

ye roll 5 deep when playing,its hard to rely on random people on your team, they ususally dnt have a good comprehention of the game and dnt have a mic so no communication, and you only as good as your crappiest player.

Ye or you can do quick match's, there like social and you can just keep playing until you learn maps weapon spots and pick up skills.

i like watchin sudden deaths where both ppl have a sawed off they jus wait for the other to make a move, and you will notice everyone wit a sawed off dsnt run.. they walk.
